My story

Butterflies can't see their own beauty, I can see the beauty of your work!

Working in the voluntary sector is  an exciting challenge!  I  use my experience to help others.  I have made many mistakes along the way, suffered imposter syndrome and have at times felt very lonely.

I am passionate about supporting others to meet their full potential, that's why I trained as a teacher in 1997.  I specialised in working with youngsters with complex needs and behavioural issues for many years.

When I became a mum  in 2000, sleep deprivation entered my life and I realised that when families have sleep issues there's often nowhere to turn.  After many years of research, I established The Sleep Charity in 2012, an award winning national charity empowering the nation to sleep well.

I am an award-winning trainer, the training programmes that I have devised around sleep and behaviour management have been sold globally.  I sit on the board of the British Sleep Society’s Paediatric Advisory Group and regularly speak in the national media.

I believe in giving back and volunteer my time with Pilotlight to mentor other charity leaders.   I love helping others to unlock the barriers that they face in life and business through the power of coaching.  I offer 4 funded places each year for charity leaders to access coaching completely free of charge as my way of giving back to the voluntary sector.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in my 40s and suddenly life made a lot more sense!  I find coaching helps me to stay focused and to manage my ADHD so that the superpowers that it brings me are at the fore.  I love working with individuals with ADHD and see incredible transformation through the power of coaching.

I love supporting others to meet their full potential, whether that be through offering bespoke training or coaching.  I provide my services because I take genuine delight in working alongside individuals and seeing the changes that quickly take place. Having walked the walk in all these areas i, I understand the challenges faced and care about making a positive difference in your life and organisation. I limit the number of clients I work with so please don't be offended if I can't work with you.  The fit has to be right for both of us.

  • When my child didn't sleep I felt like a failure!

  • When I started a charity I felt lonely and unsure!

  • When the organisation won national awards I felt imposter syndrome!

  • When I was first diagnosed with ADHD I felt lost!

All of these experiences have helped me to shape the services that I offer today so that you can have positive support from somebody who understands and cares.

I was fortunate enough to receive coaching and mentoring that made me realise how good I am!  Coaching has helped me to achieve my dreams no matter how impossible they seemed at the time.

Discovering coaching has supported my transformation to become the best version of myself. Life couldn't be more different:

My children sleep perfectly, it is waking them up that is the issue!  I've helped 1000s of families get sleep back into their lives over the last decade.

I feel empowered as a charity leader, I'm good at what I do, the trophy cabinet confirms this and even includes one from Her Majesty The Queen.

I was selected as Co-Chair of the national small charity advisory panel, they thought I was good enough, because I am!

I embrace my ADHD using all the positives that it brings to their full advantage.

Now it is my time to support YOU  and your organisation, let's make the changes happen!

Why invest in support?

It can be cost saving!  I can cut through problems quickly and share knowledge that has taken years to gain

Running a small voluntary organisation takes a great deal of effort, I can help save you time!

Because YOU are important and when we are supported we are more able to thrive and be better placed to support our beneficiaries!
